Virginia Colonoscopy
Things You Need to Know
If colonoscopy is done early as a screening examination, or before symptoms start, you are very unlikely to have colon cancer as a diagnosis. Even in the unlikely case that you did, 90-95% of cancers we discover are very early stage, often curable at the time of the colonoscopy.
We perform all procedures and consultations in our office on First Colonial Road near Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. We undergo accreditation every 3 years by the American Association of Ambulatory Healthcare Centers (AAAHC) with the same rigorous standards that are used to certify hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
Also among the things you need to know: all patients undergoing procedures in our center receive anesthesia under the care of a senior Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Center for Health was the first GI practice in Hampton Roads to utilize CRNA’s for office procedures. This very safe and effective sedation method ensures that you will have NO discomfort from your procedure and there is an extremely low incidence of side effects or prolonged sedation after your procedure.
Your care is of the utmost importance to us. We have performed thousands of procedures over decades in practice. You can count on us to deliver quality, professional healthcare. We will keep you informed on all of the things you need to know before, during, and after your procedure. If you have questions, just ask!
