If colonoscopy is done early as a screening examination, or before symptoms start, you are very unlikely to have colon cancer as a diagnosis. Even in the unlikely case that you did, 90-95% of cancers we discover are very early stage, often curable at the time of the colonoscopy.
All of our procedures and consultations are performed in our office on 1st Colonial Road near Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. We undergo accreditation every 3 years by the American Association of Ambulatory Healthcare Centers (AAAHC) with the same rigorous standards that are used to certify hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
All patients undergoing procedures in our Center receive anesthesia under the care of a senior Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Center for Health was the first GI practice in Hampton Roads to utilize CRNA’s for office procedures. This very safe and effective sedation method ensures that you will have NO discomfort from your procedure and there is an extremely low incidence of side effects or prolonged sedation after your procedure.
